I had so many interesting feelings and events this past week that I haven’t been certain what my blog post this week should be about exactly! The whole synchronicity magic continued into this week, which makes me happy, so I’ll start there! The more present we are, the more synchronicity occurs. This can be a really joyful experience, brought on by our inner state of pure consciousness. Alternately, the synchronicity can be a hard lesson we need to learn. Finding happiness within can be a challenge when faced with difficulties. So let’s begin to tap into our consciousness to attract more of what we desire!

This photo at Bow Lake was taken on my way to another hike. It was early morning, and I made sure I made this pit stop and short hike to the lakeside, just because. The perfect stillness of the water, the reflection, the blue sky, and lack of crowds were calling me! This is how I come into a state of pure consciousness and bliss! Nature will get you there every time!

Finding Happiness Within with Synchronicities

Mindfulness Practices

Nature is a beautiful way to find your centre, and start to attract more of what you desire. I head out to the mountains as often as possible, and I’ve been meditating and practising yoga a lot lately. Mindful readings are also helpful. So maybe this is what brought on week-two of magical synchronicities!

More Meaningful Coincidences

After letting a friend know about a feeling I was having, I realized that my feeling, and her response, were exactly what I had been reading about in my latest book earlier in the week! I told her how much I appreciate her, and then opened the book where I left off, and the chapter heading was about “Appreciation”! Such a beautiful and unintended synchronicity!

I had a feeling within me that this book is having an effect on bringing things to the surface that I need to feel through and integrate! The whole exchange with my friend made me feel quite emotional that day too, and I just allowed that to rise to the surface and be as it was. This process of allowing yourself to feel what you feel is important when it comes to attracting more of what you desire, and more happiness!

Crossing Paths Again

Later on, I went out, still feeling a bit emotional, but I ended up crossing paths in just the right moment with the one I spoke about in my last blog post on The Meaning of Synchronicity -This person who I hadn’t seen in years. We had a brief chat this time that uplifted my spirits and made me feel more confident about myself than I was really feeling on the inside.

Later in the same week, I went out again, and was thinking about this person and this exchange, when I look up from my activity, in a completely different place. Who do you think was walking right towards me!? Now that is some serious power of manifestation and synchronicity! I try to be present to my feelings around seeing this long lost person from my past again and why. Have I grown any since then? What have I learned from this? What message does this synchronicity have that I need to be awake to? Why are our paths crossing again years later? How do I feel?

The Gap of Separation

When we are open to the magic of synchronicity, more of it happens if we choose to notice it. Going back to the feeling I initially shared with a friend, I was feeling a separateness. We often focus on the gap between us and how different we are, how separated we are, how alone we are, how much in disagreement with others we are.

The truth though is that we are all One, sharing a “unified presence”, as Michael Brown puts it in his book, “The Presence Process”. (See the References section for this, and other great reads mentioned in my blog posts!) The gap is an illusion we create in our minds. The more we see everything as one, unified presence, the more meaningful coincidences occur. I shared this with a friend who I feel that oneness with, and the synchronicity followed that provided the message I need to pay attention to.

Finding Happiness Within By Being “In Flow”

We want more meaningful coincidences to occur because the more we are in flow with the universal energy – the life force energy – the more genuinely happy we become over a sustained period of time. You may think that doing things, having things, or having somebody will make you happy. Things like eating a chocolate cake, taking a bubble bath, going on a date, having a sexual encounter, taking a trip to an exotic place. These are all great, but they are things that are external to us. Anytime we try to find happiness by looking outside of ourselves, we are only happy for a short period of time before we fall back into despair, boredom, grief, and so on.

So we need to look at this state of “flow” that creates meaningful coincidences, leading us to personal growth and fulfilment in life. In order to feel a sustained happiness, we can’t rely on external things to satisfy us. These things are all temporary.

“All of it blooms. All of it dies. What can we do to keep light in our eyes?”. Speaking of synchronicity, I had just written those words, when I scrolled across this song on social media – one of my favourite new tunes by Kim Churchill, with almost the exact sentiment I was trying to express in that moment! Wow!

Finding Happiness Within with Music, and Some Tuning

This leads me to another method of increasing the flow of sustained happiness and attracting more of what we truly desire. That is music! Have you ever been to a live concert that put you in a complete trance-like state? That’s because music has a frequency that matches the energy frequencies in our body, and our universe! Don’t underestimate the power of music to increase the flow in your life. Listen, absorb, and bring on the manifestation of that which you desire!

Tuning our instrument, so to speak, will help us find long-term happiness. By this, I mean that we tap into the energies in our physical bodies. From there, we can clear out old, stagnant energies from our negative habits, emotions, and tendencies, and find the calm space within us where energy flows freely. This free-flow is what brings us eternal joy. So finding this sweet spot within ourselves, without looking externally for happiness, is the key.

How do we fine-tune the instrument that is our body to receive all that we desire? Through a consistent practice of breath work, meditation, yoga, a walk in nature, music, and/or any other activity that brings you into the place of bliss. It is within all of us, even if you don’t feel like you have any bliss!

Transforming Negative Energy

We also find happiness by learning to transform our negative vibrations, such as anger, grief, or shame into something more positive. Easier said than done, but when we practice the aforementioned things consistently, we learn to find the good, even in the bad. That is where finding sustained happiness within really comes from. We live by the warmth, love, and compassion in our hearts, and the fire in our bellies, rather than in fear, anger, and grief.

We choose to be happy by choosing to pay attention to our feelings, emotions, and thoughts, so that when difficulties come, we can find the gift and the message in that.

Change begins the moment we desire change, but it doesn’t happen automatically. It’s a process we have to commit to over time. Deciding what we want is only the first step.

Finding Happiness Within By Experiencing Mini-Deaths

After deciding that we choose to be happy and attract more of that which we desire, we go through the change process. Change is a transformation, much like death. Death does not always equal “dying” – It also means going through a transformation into something new that we desire. When we go through mini-deaths, as explained in Jai Dev’s LifeForce Academy, we build up our strength and ability to handle difficulties. For example, going through a breakup can be difficult, and it’s like a mini-death. The more of these mini-deaths we experience, the better able we are to handle other hardships.

If we can just find the jewel that lies within the hardship, we can reach a state of bliss. So rather than avoiding suffering, we can benefit by facing it. This gives us life experience through which we can learn and grow wise.

Avoiding Attachments In Finding Happiness Within

It’s good to practice being out in nature, to listen to uplifting music, and to be consistent with a yoga or meditation practice. This may lead us to believe that it’s the practice itself that is making us happy. Notice that this is really saying that you’re dependent on, and attached to that practice as a way of uplifting your spirit. If that’s the case, then you are still relying on something outside of yourself to bring you happiness.

Recognize that your true essence of being and your state of pure consciousness is the energy and vibration of happiness. Happiness, joy, and bliss are not something you “do”, they are something you “are”. Vibrating these energies through breath and mantra, or whatever means you choose is a “being”, not a “doing”. We are human beings, not human doings!

Wishing you all much happiness and joy on your journey, and I hope these words provide some insight into how to sustain your happiness to attract what you desire, rather than looking outside of yourself for what is always inside of you.
