The Great Awakening Into Who We Really Are

If anyone’s watching the movie and documentary series, “The Time of the Sixth Sun”, then you’ll know that “the great awakening” is upon us! It’s time to discover “who we really are”!

It’s not only a new year, but the dawn of a new Age. As we watch our world systems crumble before our eyes, we know that we must change to move forward. The political, economic, financial, health systems, and the planet are all in disarray.

In our times of loss and isolation, we must heal, and unravel the truth of our souls. This means realizing what gifts we can bring forward to serve our friends, family, and all beings.

If we discover our gifts, and what we came here to do, and we come together as One, then we raise our collective consciousness. This means we “awaken” and we vibrate at a higher frequency of love. It means we do things with kindness and compassion for the benefit of all beings.

The Great Awakening Starts Within Ourselves

I used the image of the Crocus flowers because awakening is like flowers blooming into their fullest, beautiful expressions. We are like tiny seeds of potential ready to blossom forth in the same way to heal humanity. A flower blossoming is also like our chakra centres opening. Chakra opening and positive change starts within ourselves.

When we are children, we have a purity and innocence, like an enlightened soul, untouched by any conditioning. The most fascinating thing I noticed while observing a classroom of children who had to speak in front of everyone was that none of them felt self-conscious. They said whatever came to mind with enthusiasm and joy. We must rediscover our inner child to awaken to our own truth, and to know how we can serve from that same glorious light.

The Great Awakening and Surrender

The great awakening can also mean surrendering to all challenges and opportunities that come before us. If you’ve read Michael A. Singer’s book, “The Surrender Experiment”, he describes how we can move into whatever is presented to us without resistance. For example, if someone wants us to do a new job, but we come up with excuses as to why we can’t, there is resistance. But if we accept the challenge and move into it, even with uncertainty, we learn how to do it, and we grow. Then new, greater things start to blossom that we never imagined. This can help bring about great creativity and change if only we move into challenges without resistance!

Awakening Into Who We Really Are

We often grow up from that innocent child into an adolescent or adult who has maybe been told what they should believe, what they should do when they grow up, who to date, and and where to go to school. We learn from our friends, parents, teachers, and experiences – both positive and negative. Some of us lose the innocence of the child, and we forget who we really are. We also become someone on the surface that isn’t who we really are underneath.

Some people live their whole lives like this, never really expressing their true selves or pretending to be someone they are not. Some people go through life never really knowing who they are, and some wonder what their life purpose is.

We are conditioned to think a purpose is a job that we do, when really we are not “human doings” – We are “human beings” who need to find the truth of our souls. But how do we do that?

Finding Our Truth and Inner Knowing

An awakening can happen when things fall apart in our lives and we’re in a very dark place. In the depths of our despair, and our worst pain, we may be forced to make a change. This takes healing our wounds, and releasing our pain. It can take many years, if not a lifetime.

Awakening can also happen when doing things that lift the spirit, create a feeling of love, or a high vibrational frequency. For example, dancing, singing, or playing a musical instrument. When you get into a trance-like state where you forget time and space, you are in flow with what uplifts your spirit. Whatever your passion is is part of who you really are, and has something to do with your purpose here. If we do more of what we love, we are in alignment with our soul’s true essence. We feel lighter, and we can share this light with others.

So often we are conditioned into thinking that being in this lighter, more expansive state is equivalent to being more productive, or having that job title higher on the totem pole. But again, purpose is not what we do, it is who we are in the depths of our souls. Oftentimes, that isn’t a job.

One way to hold a job that may not be totally in alignment with who we are is to make sure we’re doing more of what we’re passionate about in our lives outside of work.

If You Just Don’t Know Who You Really Are

I’ve found growing through the years that it’s important to try new things if you feel stuck. Take a new art or dance class, tai chi, learn a new language, travel to a place you’ve never been before, or make some new connections. Just try something new. Discover your talents. Find out who you really are by doing the things that bring you light, love, and high vibrations.

These are challenging times to say the least, and the state of the world is calling us into “the great awakening”. Moving forward, we must heal our own pain, loss, and suffering, and become who we came here to be. We must learn how we can serve others to heal the wounds of the world and rise above these energies. It all starts within!
